Fundraising Tips

  • Make it a goal everyday to ask one person to make a contribution to your efforts. Don't be afraid to ask for larger gifts, but just getting four people to donate $25 each will make you realize how quickly it can add up! Tinnitus is an issue that affects millions of Americans. People will be happy to support such an important and worthy cause, especially if it is one that is meaningful to you.

  • Check with your employer to see if they offer a matching gift program. Your $50 personal donation could turn into $100! Remind your team members and supporters to check with their employers about this, too. At staff meetings, ask if you can have a few minutes on the agenda. Talk about why you are participating in this fundraiser and ask for their support. If you are dedicating your race, use your personal team page to showcase why curing tinnitus is so important to you!

  • If a birthday or holiday is coming up, tell your family and friends that instead of gifts, you would like them to join your team and donate to your efforts.

  • Post information about the Jack Vernon Walk to Silence Tinnitus on a bulletin board at work, in your local coffee shop or other store or locality you frequent. We've provided all the details they will need to start their own team or join yours!

  • Add a tag line to your e-mail signature including a link to the website: Help me raise money when I participate in the Jack Vernon Walk to Silence Tinnitus! This fundraising event held by the American Tinnitus Association is an important event where 100% of all money raised will go directly where it's needed most - toward research for a cure!
