Dr. Jack Vernon was a world-class tinnitus researcher and innovator, and a man dedicated to improving people’s lives. Forty years ago, along with Dr. Charles Unice, he helped co-create the American Tinnitus Association. Since its inception, ATA’s goal has been supporting tinnitus research. Through the years, Jack and his wife, Mary Meikle, Ph.D., remained involved and supportive of ATA's mission to cure tinnitus. Sadly, the tinnitus world lost them both within a span of four months between November 2010 (when Jack passed) and February 2011 (when Mary passed.) It is our privilege to hold the 2011 Jack Vernon Walk to Silence Tinnitus in their memory. To read more about Jack and Mary, please visit the In Memory of Jack section of this site.
We encourage you to start a team for the Walk, and to find supporters that will make gifts in your name. It is through this networking that we are truly able to raise the $50,000 needed for one research grant. However, if you are unable to create your own team, please feel free to support Team ATA and directly contribute to the efforts of the finest tinnitus researchers in the world.
Thank you for your support!
